Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an RN-Telemetry for night shift in California. Requires active CA RN license, BLS/ACLS, 2+ years Med/Tele, and telemetry-drip titration proficiency. Travel healthcare experience preferred; community hospital with trauma level I/II exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities include bedside telemetry monitoring, care planning, and collaboration with physicians. Epic charting experience is required; on-site nights with 3x12s, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, and 1:5 ratio.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Tele experience.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
• Community hospital experience required; trauma level I/II preferred.
• Travel healthcare experience required; charge experience preferred.
• Telemetry rhythm interpretation and drip titration proficiency
• IV therapy, central/PICC line management, phlebotomy
• BiPAP/CPAP management and ABG interpretation
• Cardiac drip titration and post-cardiac care experience

Responsibilities

• Provide acute care telemetry in a community hospital setting.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergencies.
• Develop care plans with holistic assessment and coordination.
• Coordinate with physicians and healthcare teams for patient care.
• Document care in Epic; ensure timely charting.
• Manage patient loads with 1:5 ratio; night shift coverage
• Assist with discharge planning and family communication

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an RN-Telemetry for a night shift position requiring active CA RN license and recent Med/Tele experience with drip titration proficiency.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Tele experience required
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school required, BSN preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Recent clinical proficiency in telemetry rhythm interpretation including recognition of A-fib, A-flutter, SVT, VT, PVCs, and PACs
• Recent experience initiating, titrating, monitoring, and documenting Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin, and Heparin drips
• Travel healthcare experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac drip titration and management of cardiovascular conditions including pacemakers and post cardiac cath care

Responsibilities

• Acute care Telemetry unit within a community hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic charting system experience required
• Cardiac monitoring with rhythm interpretation and emergency response protocols
• Deliver holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, coordination, and evaluation for acute telemetry patients
• Develop and implement care plans incorporating psychological, sociocultural, and lifestyle factors
• Foster collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare teams
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local candidate rate
• Returning staff/travelers must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible for consideration
• Holiday coverage may be required for one of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
