Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is actively hiring a Rehab RN for an acute inpatient hospital unit. The role requires 2+ years of rehab experience and travel experience, with an active IN or Compact RN license and BLS.

The RN will work on an acute rehab unit serving diverse medical cases, perform blood glucose monitoring, IV therapy, port care, feeding tube management, and swallowing precautions. Night shift, weekends, and holidays rotation are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent rehab nursing experience required.
• Previous travel experience required.
• Competency in fall risk assessment and prevention.
• Competency in isolation precautions and PPE use.
• Competency in pain assessment and management.
• Competency in patient teaching.
• Competency in pressure ulcer assessment and prevention.
• Competency in wound care.
• Professional reference required within the last 12 months from a direct supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Acute inpatient rehabilitation unit setting.
• Patient population includes endocrine/metabolic, neurological (CVA), gastrointestinal, and genitourinary/renal cases.
• Performs blood glucose monitoring, insulin protocols, IV therapy, port care and management.
• Performs feeding tube care and management, swallowing precautions, and Foley catheter removal.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:30pm-6:00am.
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Meditech charting system experience preferred.
• Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel.
• Travel pairs accepted but must have flexible schedules.
• Past permanent employees of the facility will not be accepted as travelers.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role.
