Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Registered Nurse for our 16-bed Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit on the night shift (3x12 hours). Requires 2+ years RN experience, TX or compact license, and willingness to commit to a 13-week assignment.

This travel role includes housing assistance, competitive pay, medical/dental/vision coverage, and licensure reimbursements. Meditech experience and rehab care exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in TX or compact waiver
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Meditech charting experience required
• Experience in acute inpatient rehab or related settings preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac care including angina, hypertension, and post-surgical patients
• Knowledge of orthopedic rehab and prosthesis application
• Experience with neurological conditions (CVA, stroke, SCI, TBI)
• Respiratory care skills including tracheostomy management and suctioning
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia interpretation

Responsibilities

• Work in a 16-bed Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
• 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:00)
• 13-week assignment length
• Provide direct patient care including wound care, fall risk assessment, and infection prevention protocols
• Administer medications including anticoagulation therapy, antiseizure drugs, and diuretics
• Perform diabetic teaching, blood glucose monitoring, and insulin protocol management
• Manage feeding tubes, PEG tubes, and swallowing precautions for GI care
• Must work 3 of the 5 winter holidays
• Facility housing available
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Travel pairs considered on a case-by-case basis
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
