Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Psychiatric RN for an overnight behavioral health assignment in Colorado. The role requires CO or Compact RN licensure and at least 1 year of RN experience in behavioral health settings.

Responsibilities include caring for adolescents and adults across a 96-bed stabilization hospital with night shifts 7:00 PM–7:30 AM and every other weekend. CAPS check and CBI fingerprinting are required before start, with travel rate eligibility.

• Ability to perform CIWA and COWS assessments preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care within a behavioral health setting focused on acute stabilization
• Care for adolescents (13-17) and adults (18+) across multiple units
• Maintain patient ratios around 1:12 (Adolescent/Adult) and 1:10 (Dual Diagnosis/SUD)
• Observe average length of stay 7–10 days
• Utilize HCS EHR system for documentation
• Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM with every other weekend work
• Floating to all units as necessary; on-call for shift call-offs or openings

• Must complete a Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) check prior to start
• Must complete CBI fingerprinting prior to start

Responsibilities

• Behavioral health unit within a 96-bed acute stabilization hospital with 4 units of 20-26 patients each
• Patient population includes adolescents (13-17) and adults 18+ across Adult Mental Wellness, Adult Acute, and Adult Dual Diagnosis/SUD units
• Patient ratios approximately 1:12 on Adolescent, Adult Mental Wellness, and Adult Acute units, and 1:10 on Adult Dual Diagnosis/SUD
• Average length of stay is 7-10 days
• Uses HCS EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to all units as necessary
• On-call includes being contacted for shift call-offs or openings
• Provide direct nursing care within a behavioral health setting focused on acute stabilization
• Professional personality fit expected given the behavioral health patient population
• Navy scrub color required; casual attire not permitted
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Must not be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
