American Traveler is seeking a Behavioral Health RN for a night shift on a geropsychiatric unit in Dubuque, IA. Requires IA RN license or compact license, BLS, 24 months psych/BH experience, and Epic EMR proficiency. Night shifts are 3x12s with weekend and holiday rotation; charge nurse experience preferred.

Valid driver's license required for consideration
Professional reference from a supervisor preferred within past 24 months

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to psychiatric and behavioral health patients on a geropsychiatric unit
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Maintain patient safety with 1:9 patient ratios on a 9-bed unit
Participate in holiday rotation weekends and possible on-call
Charge nurse responsibilities
Ensure proper use of Epic EMR
Care for geriatric patients on the unit
Work within a regional facility
First-time travelers accepted with required 24 months of psych/BH experience
Local candidates within 50 miles not eligible

Requirements

Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required

Minimum 24 months of current psych/behavioral health experience required

Experience with geriatric patients required
De-escalation certificate (MOAB, MAB, CPI, or SAMA) preferred, may be obtained during onboarding

Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Responsibilities

Behavioral Health/Geropsychiatric unit within a regional facility
9-bed unit with patient ratios up to 1:9
Patient population consists of psychiatric and behavioral health patients, including geriatric patients
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week (no 48-hour weeks)
Every 3rd weekend required, including holiday rotation weekends
Possible on-call, up to once per pay period as needed
Charge nurse responsibilities required
Epic EMR experience required
Provide direct nursing care to psychiatric and behavioral health patients, including geriatric patients
Grey scrub color required
Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
First-time travelers accepted with required 24 months of psych/BH experience
Candidates must not have been employed by the health system within the past 12 months, unless prior employment was as a travel contractor at this facility
Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
