American Traveler is seeking an RN Assessment Specialist for a Behavioral Health Intake unit in Texas. The role requires a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of mental health assessment experience. Night shifts are offered with varied scheduling, and a strong focus is on crisis management and patient safety.

Qualified candidates will hold a BSN and both BLS and HWS certifications. Travel rate applies for eligible candidates living 60 miles or more from the facility, with LifePoint

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral health assessments and intake evaluations.
• Manage a 7-bed unit with a 2:7 patient ratio.
• Care for patients with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation and psychosis.
• Use vitals machine and breathalyzer; document in EHR.
• Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM with multiple scheduling options.
• Adhere to scrubs policy and professional attire.
• Reside ≥60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate.
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at LifePoint in the past 12 months.
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time.

Responsibilities

• Behavioral Health Assessment/Intake department within a psychiatric facility
• 7-bed unit with a 2:7 patient ratio
• Serves patients of all ages presenting with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and psychosis
• Uses computer, vitals machine, and breathalyzer equipment
• EHR systems: Medik and OnBase
• Night shift 7:00 PM-7:30 AM with Sunday-Tuesday or Wednesday-Friday scheduling options
• Every other weekend required, with one schedule including Sunday nights
• No call requirements
• Conduct behavioral health assessments and intake evaluations for patients presenting with a range of psychiatric conditions
• Black or blue scrubs required; business casual attire not accepted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
