American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for Pediatric Infusion at a UC-affiliated center in California. Requires CA RN license, BSN, APHON certification, and at least 2 years of infusion experience.

The role covers Pediatric and Adult patients in an infusion center with 1:4 staffing, day/evening shifts, and potential travel within a 75+ mile radius. EPIC EMR proficiency and teaching-hospital experience are required.

Qualifications

• CA RN license active at submission
• BSN degree required
• Minimum 2 years infusion experience (pediatric and/or adult)
• APHON, AHA BLS certifications required
• Preferred: PALS and CPHON
• EPIC EMR experience
• Teaching hospital experience required and noted in employment history
• Experience with pediatric oncology, outpatient oncology, and BMT preferred

Responsibilities

• Treat pediatric and adult patients in infusion center across GI, Rheumatology, Oncology, Hematology, and BMT
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:4
• Work day/evening shifts (4x8 hours) with potential mid-shift on Wednesdays until 22:00
• Float to UCSF facilities within 75+ mile radius as needed
• Provide direct care including chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion therapy
• Educate patients and families in collaboration with pediatric teams
• Follow isolation, neutropenic, and PPE protocols as required
• Disclose any prior UC medical facility employment for rehire review
• Travel pairs allowed; usually not on the same unit; RTO disclosed at offer

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Infusion position requiring CA RN licensure, BSN, APHON certification, and at least 2 years of infusion experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of infusion experience (Pediatric and/or Adult)
• Certifications required: APHON, AHA BLS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, CPHON
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Skills required include IV therapy/infusions, port accessing/management, central line care, administration of blood/blood products, chemotherapy administration, and recognition/management of oncologic emergencies
• Experience with pediatric oncology, outpatient oncology, and BMT preferred

Responsibilities

• Pediatric and Adult Infusion Center treating a wide range of diagnoses including GI, Rheumatology, Oncology, Hematology, and BMT
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day/Evening shifts (4x8 hours), typically days but may shift to mid-shift on Wednesdays when open until 2200
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, biotherapy, and infusion therapy for pediatric and adult patients
• Collaborate with pediatric care teams and support patient/family education
• Apply isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, and PPE protocols as needed
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved at time of offer; no additional requests accepted mid-contract and no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of assignment
• Any prior employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for rehire eligibility review
• Travel pairs allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
