Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Infusion position in California, with chemotherapy administration skills and a CA RN license. The role requires BLS and ONCC certification, plus 2+ years of infusion nursing experience.

Responsibilities include infusion therapy, chemo administration, and central/PICC line care in an Epic EMR environment. Day shifts 7:30am–7:30pm, local candidates eligible for local rate in the Santa Rosa area.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience.
• Skilled in IV therapy, infusions, and accessing/managing ports.
• Experience with central line and PICC line care.
• Experience administering chemotherapy including IV push and continuous infusion.
• Knowledge of cytotoxic spill management and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy.
• Ability to recognize and manage chemotherapy side effects and symptom management.
• Knowledge of oncology-related medications including antiemetics, antitumor agents, and corticosteroids.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Infusion unit setting providing IV therapy, biotherapy, and chemotherapy administration.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8.5 hour shifts from 7:30am-7:30pm.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide direct patient care including assessment, care planning, and evaluation for infusion and oncology patients.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy treatments while monitoring for side effects.
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and ports for infusion therapy.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and symptom management.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff as needed.
• Must complete labs within 3-5 days of contract signing.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract.
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
• Local candidates accepted at local rate.
• Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Returning staff/travelers must have a one-year separation before returning.
• First-time travelers not considered for this position.
