Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU assignment in Wisconsin. The role requires 2 years of recent acute PICU experience and Epic proficiency.

The ideal candidate holds an active WI license, BLS and PALS, travel nursing background, and is comfortable with a 3x12 night shift and floating as needed. Strong trauma/teaching-hospital exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active WI or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA only).
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience.
• Must have completed 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty.
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center.
• Facility is a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center with a Level IV NICU.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am, with every other weekend required.
• Required to float as needed.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients, including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and GI care.
• Skilled care may include ventilator management, chest tube care, central line management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Experience with congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and ICP monitoring is preferred.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• All references must be removed prior to consideration.
• Parking permit required for onsite parking through UW Transportation; alternative transportation options available.
