Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU travel assignment in Tennessee. The role requires a TN or compact RN license, BLS/PALS, and at least 2 years of PICU experience.

Travel nurse experience and two references are required, with SSN and DOB provided in the candidate profile. The 14-bed PICU serves infants to 21-year-olds and involves night shifts (3x12 hours, 1845–0715). Responsibilities include critical care, invasive lines, ventilators, and post-surgical care.

Qualifications

• Active TN RN license or compact license required.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required.
• Prior travel nurse experience required.
• Two professional references required for consideration.
• SSN and DOB required in profile at time of consideration.

Responsibilities

• 14-bed PICU with 11 private rooms and one semi-private bay with 3 beds
• Patient population ranges from infants to 21 years old
• Common diagnoses include DKA, respiratory failure/distress, pneumonia, status asthmaticus, trauma, sepsis, ingestion, seizures, altered mental status, post-arrest, and post-surgical cases
• Bedside procedures include central line/arterial line placement, chest tube placement, bronchoscopy, and EVD/bolt placement
• Uses Philips monitors, Servo ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 1845-0715
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units required as needed
• Care for critically ill pediatric patients including respiratory, cardiovascular, neurologic, and post-surgical cases
• Skills needed include ventilator management, ABG interpretation, central/PICC line care, IV vasopressor administration, and ICP monitoring
• Experience with EVD care, hydrocephalus/VP shunt management, and post-neurosurgical care preferred
• Candidates who have oriented at this facility within the past year will not need to reorient
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
