Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a PICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. Requires at least 1 year PICU experience and TX or compact RN license on hand.

Responsibilities include 1:2 patient ratios, day shift (3x12s), self-scheduling, potential float to NICU/Med-Surg, and Epic EMR proficiency. First-time travelers welcome. Navy scrubs, parking on site, and holidays coverage may apply.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience
• Experience with 1:1-2 patient ratios
• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• IV therapy and central line care including PICC
• Experience managing IV vasopressors and sedation
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Work in the PICU of a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient 1:2 ratio
• Self-scheduling with 3 shifts per week
• Variable weekend requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU as needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide direct care to critically ill pediatric patients in PICU
• RNs must wear Navy scrub color
• Free parking on site with bike racks
• First-time travelers welcome to apply
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during application
• Former permanent staff must wait 3 months before returning as traveler
• Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate within 50 miles
• Travelers may float between sister facilities within same health system

• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/PICC line care

• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Self-scheduling required with 3 shifts per week, which may be consecutive or split
• Variable weekend requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU units
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide direct care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU setting
• Navy scrub color required for RNs
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces with bike racks on site
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be granted
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the same health system
