American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PICU role in a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois. Requires active IL RN license, BLS/PALS, and 2+ years PICU experience. Expect night shifts (3x12), mandatory float within 50 miles, and Cerner charting proficiency.

Must have pediatric dosing knowledge, ventilator care, IV therapy, and PPE competency. References and COVID vaccination proof required.

• IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line/implanted line care, and PICC line management skills.
• ICP monitoring experience required.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills.
• Isolation precautions and PPE competency required.
• Two professional references prior to start; COVID vaccination proof.

Responsabilidades

• PICU setting within a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Mandatory float to meet facility needs, within scope and up to 50 miles away.
• Provide critical care nursing services to pediatric ICU patients.
• Cerner charting system used.
• RTO limited by policy; no holidays or weekends as specified.
• Return candidates must undergo full recredentialing and orientation.
• Lab work completed within 72 hours of accepting assignment.

• Cerner charting experience required
• Skills required include medications/emergency medications, anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, acute airway care/maintenance, ABG interpretation, and chest tube management
• IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line/implanted line care, and PICC line management skills required
• ICP monitoring experience required
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
• Isolation precautions and PPE competency required
• Two professional references required prior to start, from most recent employers, one per employer
• Proof of COVID vaccination required (booster not required)

Responsibilities

• PICU setting within a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• No block scheduling permitted
• Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
• No on-call requirements
• Cerner charting system used
• Mandatory float facility; floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to units outside primary competency with team-based support, and to other facilities within 50 miles with as little as 2 hours notice
• Provide critical care nursing services to pediatric ICU patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends
• No holiday RTO and no RTO the day before or after a holiday; call-outs on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
• Returning candidates must undergo full recredentialing and reattend orientation, even if the break in contract was less than 30 days
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers not considered for this position
