Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, IA.

The PCU RN will care for patients requiring close monitoring but not ICU level care, with 13‑week duration and 36 hours per week on a night shift. Immediate need with ACLS and BLS required, and 1–2 years of acute care experience preferred. This travel assignment involves bedside care, IVs, meds, and rhythm monitoring in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1–2 years recent acute care experience.
• 13 weeks travel assignment with 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and monitor adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action based on monitoring information.
