Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking an RN for PCU travel assignment in Asheville, NC. Day shift, 12 hours per day, 3 days per week, on-site with 13-week contract. Unit features telemetry, 20 beds, and a fast-paced environment.

The RN must have telemetry competency, Progressive Care experience, and current BLS/ACLS. Floating to other units may occur; uniform and shift details are provided on site. Competitive benefits accompany the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Progressive Care Unit.
• Monitor patients via telemetry and respond to alarms.
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians for care plans.
• Document care in Cerner EMR and maintain unit readiness.

General Information

• Number of Beds – 20
• # and type of staff:
  • Day Shift – 1 charge, 4 RN, 2 CNA
  • Night Shift – 1 charge, 4 RN, 2 CNA
• Patient Ratios – 1:5/ 1:6 stretch dependent on level of care
• Inpatient overflow unit w/mixed level of care- medical surgical and/or step-down patients bedded on this unit
• Short stay (
• Quick turnover
• Type of equipment – telemetry; if telemetry monitoring indicated, all patients hardwired to bedside monitor.
• EMR - Cerner

Must have

• Telemetry competency
• Progressive Care experience

Preferred or nice to have

• Recent progressive care experience

• Travelers will be required to float to other units if needed.
