Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN for a night shift assignment in Florida. Requires 3+ years of recent PACU experience and a Level I or II Trauma Hospital background. Active Florida or Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NIH certifications, and Epic EMR experience are required.

The position is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule with every other weekend. Local candidates within 60 miles may receive a lower pay rate; AHCA Level 2 background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH certifications via AHA required.
• Minimum 3 years of recent PACU surgery experience required.
• Level I or II Trauma Hospital experience required.
• Must be able to circulate.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Degree from an accredited school required, or a degree from an FBON-approved institution plus 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months.
• Successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review.

Responsibilities

• PACU unit within a hospital setting.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Minimum of 10 days on-call required.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Provide perianesthesia nursing care in the PACU.
• Smoke-free facility.
• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a lower pay rate.
• Former Broward Health employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted.
• Must complete a basic arrhythmia assessment with a passing score of 100% on lethal rhythms and at least 83% on all other sections.
