Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an RN for Outpatient Surgery/Same Day Surgery in California. The role requires an active CA RN license, BLS/ACLS, PALS, endoscopy and perioperative experience, and EPIC EMR proficiency.

BSN preferred. Local and travel candidates with housing/licensure support are considered. You will work a 4x10s day shift (start times 5:30am–11am by case volume), caring for pre-op/open heart and total joint patients, coordinating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• PALS certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience.
• Endoscopy and perioperative experience required.
• Outpatient surgery and perioperative experience preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience is required.
• BSN degree preferred; acute care setting experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in outpatient surgery and endoscopy units.
• Day shift, 4x10s, with rotating day off.
• Pre-op and PACU (Phase II) workflows.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team and supervise assigned staff.
• Administer moderate sedation and manage patient turnover.
• Document assessments and care plans using EPIC EMR.
• Educate patients and families; participate in discharge planning.
• Ensure vaccination requirements are maintained.

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Outpatient Surgery/Same Day Surgery position requiring endoscopy and perioperative experience along with a CA RN license.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• PALS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Endoscopy experience required
• Outpatient surgery and perioperative experience strongly preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Acute care facility experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Outpatient Surgery unit in a fast-paced surgery and endoscopy environment
• Day shift, 4x10s, Monday-Friday with a rotating day off depending on schedule
• Start time varies between 5:30am and 11am based on case volume
• Cares for pre-op open heart and total joint patients
• Involves pre-op and PACU phase II workflows
• Experience with moderate sedation and rapid patient turnover is a plus
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Delivers coordinated nursing care and supervises assigned nursing staff, coordinating with other disciplines
• Collects and analyzes patient assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop care plans
• Implements care plans, coordinates delivery of care, and evaluates patient progress toward outcomes
• Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers to maintain a safe, healing environment
• Provides patient and family education and participates in discharge planning
• Delegates and coordinates duties among healthcare team members
• Required vaccinations must be maintained as a condition of employment, with medical and religious exemptions considered
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested RTO will be automatically declined
• Candidates with a prior adverse action on their license will not be considered
• Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel candidates with no radius restriction
