American Traveler is seeking an RN First Assist (RNFA) for a demanding Operating Room assignment in California. Candidates must hold CRNFA and an active CA RN license, with 2+ years of OR RNFA experience and prior charge/lead responsibilities.

Travel experience is required, with shifts 4x10 or 3x12 and on-call duties. Expect care across multiple specialties in a Level IV trauma center; comprehensive benefits are included for travel clinicians.

Formación

• BLS and CRNFA certifications required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of OR RNFA experience required.
• Previous charge/lead experience required.
• Previous travel assignment experience required.
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required.
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred.
• Proficient in surgical first assist skills including suturing, tissue manipulation, clamping/cauterizing, and wound closure.
• Aseptic technique, instrument processing, PPE, and sterilization/disinfection skills expected.

Responsabilidades

• Level IV trauma center with 26 operating rooms across main hospital and outpatient settings.
• Specialties include Cancer care, Orthopedics, and Cardiac with a hybrid vascular/cardiac suite.
• 4x10 (6:30-17:00) or 3x12 (6:30-19:00) day shift schedules available.
• Call required with every other weekend commitment.
• Float across Acute Hospital OR, ASC, Same Day Surgery, Orthopedics, GI, and Pain Management.
• Supports a wide range of surgical specialties including Bariatrics, Endo/Laparoscopic, General, Gyn, Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Total Joints, Podiatry, Robotics, Urology.
• Involved in Whipple, Total Joint Replacement, Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci, Mako), and Spinal Fusion.
• Provide first assist support across vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, and robotic cases.
• On-call requirement of once per pay period with 60-minute call-back.
• RTO policies and holiday coverage requirements apply.

• Involved in complex procedures such as Whipple, Total Joint Replacement, Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci, Mako), and Spinal Fusion
• Provide first assist support across a broad range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, and robotic cases
• Float within skill set across inpatient and outpatient surgical units as needed
• Scrubs are provided
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment
• No local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former facility employees must have been separated for 2 or more years to be eligible to return as a travel candidate
• On-call requirement of once per pay period with a 60-minute call-back expectation
• RTO should not exceed 7 days and must be submitted with the initial profile
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Travelers expected to work every other holiday, with preference for coverage of 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve)
• Only one contract extension is permitted before a mandatory time-off period equal to the combined contract and extension length is required before returning to this facility
