Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an Operating Room role in California. The position requires an active CA RN license and a minimum of three years of OR experience, with the evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

BSN is preferred, and BLS certification from an AHA-approved vendor is required. Cerner or Epic experience may be documented if applicable. This role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and adherence to established nursing processes.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license is required.
• BLS certification from an AHA-approved vendor is required.
• Three years of OR nursing experience is required.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Surgery unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Delivers coordinated nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and the nursing process
• Supervises and directs assigned nursing staff and coordinates care with other disciplines
• Collects and analyzes patient assessment data to determine diagnosis and care needs
• Develops and implements care plans, coordinating care delivery to promote health and safety
• Collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide safe and compassionate care
• Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
• Provides learning opportunities and health information to patients, families, and team members
• Required vaccinations are a condition of employment, with medical and religious exemptions available
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered
• Candidates with a prior adverse licensure action will not be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates with no radius restriction
