Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a day-shift travel assignment in Wisconsin. Requires WI or compact license, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years of OR experience across General Surgery, Cataracts, Robotics, Orthopedics, and GYN.

Responsibilities include 4x8-hour days from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with weekend call (1 in 4) and holiday coverage. Must live within 50 miles; travel-friendly, with Cerner charting and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Active WI or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only).
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required within General Surgery, Cataracts, Robotics, Orthopedics, and GYN specialties.
• 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Skills in gynecological, orthopedic, general surgery, and robotic surgical procedures preferred.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and conscious sedation monitoring preferred.
• Previous charge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit assignment.
• Day shift, 4x8-hour shifts, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
• No scheduled weekends but weekend call required (currently 1 in 4).
• Holiday coverage required as needed.
• Floating required as needed.
• Patient ratio of 1:1.
• Cerner charting system used, experience preferred.
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• Pass/fail telemetry exam required prior to start with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm identification.
• Up to two attempts allowed for telemetry exam, with a third attempt requiring completion of a cardiac interpretation review course.
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions.
• RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum.
• Prior UW Health staff must have a separation period of 18 months before returning as a traveler.
• Free onsite parking available.
