Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a teaching hospital assignment in Florida. The role requires 2 years of direct CVOR experience, active Florida or Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, and vaccination prerequisites.

Responsibilities include working in CVOR, day shifts 6:00 AM–4:30 PM with cardiac call 2–3 days weekly, and potential floating to meet facility needs. EPIC charting and blood product administration are required.

Qualifications

• Active FL or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of submission; no pending certifications accepted
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of direct CVOR experience required
• 1 year of combined permanent experience in the specialty required (Ohio locations only)
• One reference required from a supervisory role in the specialty applying for
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required, with medical/religious exemptions only

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a teaching hospital
• Day shift, 4x10 hours (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Cardiac call required 2-3 days weekly, approximately 6 shifts minimum per month (1 weekday and 2 weekend 24-hour shifts), may increase to 10 if short staffed
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Cases include Atrial Septal Defect repair, CABG, MAZE Procedure, Mitral Valve Replacement, and TAVR
• Uses Cell Saver equipment
• Charting performed in EPIC
• Accepts local candidates at the same bill rate
• Perform CVOR nursing duties including administration of blood and blood products, infection control, specimen handling/labeling, and wound management
• Follow Universal Protocol (time out) procedures, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols
• May be assigned to other OR cases if no CVOR cases are available
• Time-sensitive training modules must be completed promptly once assignment is confirmed
• Ceil blue scrub color required
• Required to work every other holiday
• Strict no call-in policy; smoke-free facility
• Permanent and per diem staff cannot return to Cleveland Clinic for 1 year from their previous end date
• All requested time off (RTO) must be discussed and submitted upfront; late RTO requests are unlikely to be approved
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
