Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in California. Active CA RN licensure, ACLS/BLS certifications, and call coverage are required to start.

Scrubbing in is preferred but not required, with travel housing and licensure reimbursements offered. The role involves 10-hour shifts in a CVOR with a 2 RNs per case staffing model, 2 cases per week, and rotated weekend coverage. Cerner and Surginet charting systems are used.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand, no pending licenses accepted.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required.
• Common case types include CABG, AVR, MVR, and Thoracotomy.
• Scrubbing in on cases not required but preferred.
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration.
• Two professional references: one supervisor from within last 12 months and one peer/supervisor from within last 3 years, with dates and rehire eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Acute care CVOR setting.
• Single OR suite handling ~2 cases per week.
• Staffing ratio of 2 circulating RNs per case.
• 10-hour day shifts with every-other-weekend.
• Call required with 30-minute response time, rotated among CVOR RNs.
• First to float, with float to Main OR as needed.
• Uses Cerner and Surginet charting systems.
• Holiday coverage required.
• Scrubs provided by facility.
• Provide circulating RN support for cardiovascular surgical cases.
• Charge RN manages daily case assignments.
• Unit-specific orientation provided for one week or until comfortable.
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role.
