Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN to scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries at a Level I Trauma Center. Candidates must hold a CT or Compact RN license and have 2+ years of CVOR experience. BLS is required; ACLS preferred.

This assignment features travel benefits and a fast-paced academic medical center environment. Responsibilities include working in the CVOR unit, 2x12 and 2x8 hour shifts, Epic charting, and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience.
• Must be able to independently scrub and circulate cardiac surgery.
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures required (CABG, aneurysm repair, valve procedures).
• Level I Trauma Center experience at a large facility required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the CVOR unit of a Level I Trauma Center.
• 2x12 hour and 2x8 hour shifts per week (7a-3:30p or 10:45a-7:15p).
• Average patient ratio of 1:2; floating within scope.
• On-call two 24-hour calls per schedule; additional on-call as specified.
• Charting completed in Epic; scrubs provided; vaccine requirements observed.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN to independently scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Must be able to independently scrub and circulate cardiac surgery
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures required, including CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, mitral valve replacement, IABP, and femoral cannulation
• Preferred experience with atherectomy, cardiomyoplasty, MAZE procedure, TAVR, LVAD/RVAD, laparoscopic cardiac surgery, and PDA
• Preferred thoracic surgery experience including lobe resection, mediastinoscopy, thoracotomy, and VATS
• Level I Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
• One professional reference required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the CVOR unit of a Level I Trauma Center, Academic Medical Center
• Schedule consists of 2x12 hour and 2x8 hour shifts per week, either 7a-3:30p or 10:45a-7:15p
• Average patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• On-call requirement of two 24-hour calls per schedule
• Additional on-call requirement of 2 calls per Monday-Friday week (7p-11p or 7p-7a), with 1 day per week availability to stay late
• Charting completed in Epic
• Scrubs provided
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous perm staff must be separated from the facility for 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the facility
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
