Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN in Georgia for a hospital operating room position. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in CVOR and holds an active GA (or Compact) RN license with BLS/ACLS certified credentials.

Responsibilities include 1:1 patient care in CVOR, 3×12 hour day shifts (6:30 AM–7:00 PM), and optional weekend rotations. Epic charting is used; travel-focused candidates encouraged. Compliance and orientation timelines apply, with flexible start dates.

Qualifications

• Active RN license GA or Compact required at time of consideration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years CVOR experience required.
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures (CABG, aneurysm repair, valve replacement, LVAD/TAVR) preferred.
• Experience with vascular procedures (AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, bypass) preferred.
• CVOR/vascular thoracic scrubbing experience preferred.
• Thoracic procedures experience (lobes, thoracotomy, VATS) preferred.
• TAVR and LVAD/RVAD experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 1:1 patient ratio and perioperative nursing care.
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Weekend options available (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon).
• Variable call requirements; typically one weekday and one weekend call every 5–6 weeks.
• Floats within facility and scope of practice as needed.
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation.
• Assist perioperative care for CV, vascular, and thoracic cases.
• Clinical screening to determine fit prior to manager review.
• New travelers welcome; local candidates accepted at same bill rate.
• Compliance required by start date; orientation bi-weekly.
• RTO limited per contract; no RTO during orientation week.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN with 2+ years of experience and cardiovascular/vascular/thoracic surgical scrub skills for a hospital operating room position.

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures required, including CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, mitral valve replacement, and IABP
• Experience with vascular procedures preferred, including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, and femoral popliteal bypass graft
• Experience scrubbing for cardiovascular and vascular surgery preferred
• Experience with thoracic procedures preferred, including lobe resection, thoracotomy, and VATS
• Experience with TAVR and LVAD/RVAD procedures a plus

• Full compliance required by start date, as delays push the start back two weeks due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, and all RTO must be finalized prior to submission
• No RTO permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required for major holidays occurring during the assignment, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Previous Piedmont employees must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were cancelled or not approved to return must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
