Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Ambulatory Care RN for a day-shift clinic role with phone triage and teaching hospital background.

Responsibilities include in-clinic phone triage, patient teaching, specimen collection, and possible floor duties across two clinics within the same courtyard. The role requires a California RN license, BSN, and AHA BLS certification, plus at least 2 years of RN experience with triage and teaching-hospital exposure.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• BSN required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Triage experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history.
• Family care clinic, internal medicine, and pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in an ambulatory care setting spanning two clinics within the same courtyard.
• Patient population spans all age groups from newborns to geriatrics.
• Primary responsibility is in-clinic phone triage with possible reassignment to the floor for clinic coverage, nurse visits, and point-of-care testing.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities as needed, within a 75+ mile radius.
• Epic EMR used.
• Responsibilities include telephone triage, medication refills, patient teaching, specimen collection, vital signs, immunizations, and assisting with minor procedures such as suture removal.
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates worked, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility check.
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment.
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as traveler candidates.
• Travel pairs are permitted but generally will not be placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work on the same unit.
