Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with travel and teaching hospital background for a role requiring scrub and circulate skills at a major academic medical center.

Position features day shift (11:00 AM–7:30 PM), 40 hrs/week, 13 weeks, with starting Oct 6, 2026. Candidates must have CA RN license, BSN, and strong OR experience including Epic charting.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required at submission.
• BSN is required to apply.
• BLS is required; ACLS and CNOR are preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of operating room experience.
• Previous charge experience is required.
• Teaching hospital experience must be listed in history.
• Scrub and circulate skills are required.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• Two professional references from most recent employer are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and circulate duties across multiple surgical specialties.
• Work day shift, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM in a teaching hospital setting.
• Float to UCSF facilities within 75+ miles as needed.
• Utilize Epic charting for documentation and care coordination.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with prior travel and teaching hospital experience for a role requiring both scrub and circulate skills at a major academic medical center.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Day shift, 5x8 hours (11:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Handles OHNS and craniotomy procedures, OMFS, plastic surgery, dental surgery, combined neurosurgery/OHNS procedures, open and endoscopic cases, and free flap reconstructive procedures
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

Additional Information

• Perform scrub and circulate duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, cardiovascular, general surgery, endoscopic, robotics, urology, ENT, bariatrics, transplant, and thoracic procedures
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and no RTO allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel
• Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
