Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room role in Louisiana. Requires 3+ years OR nursing, active RN license (LA or Compact), BLS, and Epic EMR proficiency. Travel nursing experience and prior charge nurse exposure are essential assets.

Responsibilities include managing a 10-room OR with 20–25 daily cases, day shift from 8:30 to 5, and weekly call with monthly weekend duty. Housing allowances and travel reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Louisiana or Compact) required in hand upon submittal
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and CNOR preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Current NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)

Responsibilities

• Operate OR unit with 10 OR rooms; daily census 20-25
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Call requirement of once per week and one weekend per month
• No call-in flexibility
• Uses Epic EMR
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, onsite or on relief team
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• Two Manager/Supervisor references prior to start
• Permanent staff or in-house contractors must be separated for 1 year before returning as traveler
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility
• RTO must be disclosed and discussed during interview
