Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced OR Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Salem, Oregon. Requires active OR license and BLS; ACLS and CNOR preferred. Epic charting experience is required, with 2+ years of OR RN experience and trauma hospital exposure.

The role features day shifts (3x12s) with potential floating within the Salem Health system, and generous benefits. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Active OR RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Prior charge experience preferred.
• Experience in a Level I or II trauma hospital preferred.
• Experience across vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, general surgery, neurology, urology, and robotics surgery.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room setting within a hospital.
• 1:1 patient ratio.
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 11:00-23:30).
• Weekday scheduled shifts of 10 hours with variable 4x10 hour scheduling.
• Weekday night call shifts of 8 hours (2300-0700).
• Weekend scheduled and call shifts of 10-12 hours.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• May require floating within the facility or to nearby affiliated facilities, with West Valley Hospital as the first floating location.
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties and procedures.
• Perform duties such as Universal Protocol (time out) procedures, specimen handling, and infection control practices.
• Knowledge of emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia management.
• Experience with robotic surgical systems such as Da Vinci Xi and Mako preferred.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Former Salem Health employees must wait six months from their termination date before being eligible for travel assignments.
• Candidates may only be submitted to one position within the Salem Health system.
• RTO must be finalized prior to consideration for the role.
• Block scheduling is not accommodated.
