American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a short-term acute care hospital in Washington. Candidates must hold a WA or compact RN license and have at least 1 year of OR experience with BLS and ACLS certifications. Epic charting experience is preferred.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of OR experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Community Hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must disclose any prior work history with the health system (permanent, travel, or per-diem)

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 325 staffed beds
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours (6:45 AM-5:15 PM)
• Call requirements apply
• Epic EMR preferred
• Floating between sister facilities within the state may be required
• Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, thoracic, urology, ENT, neuro, vascular, gynecology, and robotics
• Skilled in emergency management, fire safety, code response, and universal protocol (time out) procedures
• Experience with equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana table, and Steris systems preferred
• Knowledge of infection control, specimen handling, radiation and laser safety, and wound management required
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period if located outside a 50-mile radius
• Only one submission allowed within the Providence Health System at a time
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
