American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week day shift assignment in Illinois. Candidates must have at least three years of nursing experience and a current IL RN license, along with BLS certification.

The role requires patient positioning, surgical team support, and accurate nursing documentation. The position uses EPIC EMR for charting and offers travel housing allowances, per diems, and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Position OR patients and prep for procedures
• Maintain sterile and safe environment during surgeries
• Assist surgical team with supplies, specimens, and medications
• Document nursing care and patient status in EMR
• Transport patients to PACU or appropriate unit and provide handoff
• Operate on a day shift from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM (40 hours/week)
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• RTO limited to 7 days within the 13-week contract

Requirements

• Skilled in patient positioning, surgical team support, and documentation of nursing care

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 40 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• EPIC EMR charting used
• Prepares OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
• Performs patient identification, timeouts, and safety checks throughout surgical process
• Positions and preps patients for procedures using proper safety techniques
• Supports the surgical team during procedures, including managing supplies, specimens, and medications
• Transports patients to PACU or appropriate unit and provides handoff to receiving RN
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days within the 13-week contract period
