Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week contract. Requires at least 1 year of OR nursing experience, active RN license (Texas or Compact), BLS and ACLS certifications, and US SSN.

The role includes a 4-bed unit with 1:1 patient care, day shifts 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, and call coverage including rotating weekends. Must reside outside a 50-mile radius.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent OR/Surgery nursing experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Surgery Operating Room department within a hospital setting.
• 4-bed unit with 1:1 patient ratios.
• Procedures include orthopedic, robotic general surgery, urology, breast oncology, podiatry, and ENT cases.
• Uses standard OR equipment and Meditech EMR.
• Day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Call required, including rotating weekday and weekend (24-hour) shifts, with weekend call limited to call cases only.
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties as part of a collaborative OR team.
• Team includes OR Manager, Charge Nurse, CSTs, RNs, schedulers, and support staff.
• Ceil blue scrub color required.
• Candidates should be flexible and personable to fit the unit's team culture.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered

• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
