American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I Trauma Center in Morgantown, WV. Independent circulating skills and rotating call coverage are required.

The role requires WV or compact RN licensure, BLS, and a minimum of 2 years OR experience. BSN is not required. Scrubs are provided and travel housing support is available.

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma Center OR with 33 total suites serving 24/7 trauma needs.
• Perform OR circulator duties across multiple service lines (Ortho, Neuro, Xi Robotics, etc.).
• Use EPIC OP-Time for charting.
• Rotate 8- and 12-hour shifts with specific start times.
• Weekend 12-hour blocks with weekday hours.
• Standby call 20–30 hours per 4 weeks with 30-minute response.
• Floating between units 5N and 2W as needed.
• Scrubs provided; OR Techs on unit; EPIC training included.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring independent circulating skills and rotating call coverage.

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Must be able to circulate independently and take call as required
• BSN not required

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma Center OR with 33 total suites (23 on 5 North, 10 on 2 West) supporting 24/7 poly trauma response
• Average of 80-120 cases/day across service lines including Ortho, Neuro, Xi Robotics (Surgical Onc, Urology, GYN), Bariatrics, ENT (head & neck free flaps/reconstruction), and Ophthalmology
• Uses EPIC OP-Time for charting
• Rotating 8 and 12 hour day and afternoon shifts (12s: 6:30a-7p or 9a-9:30p/10:30a-11p; 8s: 6:30a-3p or starting at 9a, 10:30a, or 2:30p)
• Weekend shifts scheduled as 12 hour blocks (6:30a-7p or 10:30a-11p), with remaining hours scheduled during the week
• Standby call requirement of 20-30 hours per 4-week period with a 30-minute call response time
• Floating limited to between 5N and 2W based on experience
• Basic OR equipment used includes Bovie machines, forced air warmers, Neptune suction, drill consoles, Xi Robotics, Ligasure, and Argon Beam
• Scrubbing is not required for this RN position
• A 24/7 Charge Nurse is in place; travelers would not be placed in this role
• OR Techs are used on the unit, though this opening is specifically for RNs
• Scrubs are provided
• Unit orientation includes 2-3 shifts across both 5N and 2W, with one shift dedicated to EPIC training
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• Previous permanent staff or travelers at WVU Medicine locations must have a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers are limited to a cumulative 1-year assignment length within the WVU system before requiring a 2-year break
