Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a specialty GYN/GU/Transplant role in Wisconsin, requiring robotic surgery and transplant experience. A WI or compact RN license is required, with submitted WI license accepted pending.

This magnet-designated teaching hospital position offers 12-hour shifts, weekend calls, and a two-week orientation. Telemetry and Epic charting experience are expected, with opportunities for travel and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Active WI license or compact license; WI license pending accepted with submission.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty.
• Experience in urology, gynecology/oncology, kidney/pancreas transplant, and robotic surgery.
• Skills in gynecologic/urologic procedures and robotic platforms.
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic system required.
• Proficiency in blood products, infection control, specimen handling, universal protocol, and emergency management.
• Telemetry exam with high pass criteria prior to start; references not included.

Responsibilities

• Manage OR unit at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
• Handle GYN/GU/Transplant cases including kidney transplant, hysterectomy, nephrectomy, cystectomy, ureteroscopy, HOLEP, and procurements.
• Utilize Da Vinci Xi robotic system for procedures.
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratio in OR.
• Document in Epic charting system.
• Work day/evening 12-hour shifts; weekend call required.
• Floating as needed; two-week orientation period.
• Provide perioperative nursing care for complex GYN, GU, and transplant cases.
• Must reside within 50 miles of facility; local candidates not accepted.
• Parking permit through UW Transportation if parking onsite.

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required (pending WI license accepted with submission)
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted to
• Required experience in Urology, Gynecology/Oncology, kidney transplant, pancreas transplant, and robotic surgery
• Skills required in gynecologic and urologic procedures including abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair, laparoscopic assisted procedures, cystectomy, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, and prostatectomy
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system required
• Professional skills required in blood product administration, infection control, specimen handling, universal protocol, emergency management, and fire safety
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher passing score on adult and pediatric exams
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

• Day/evening 12-hour shifts (0940-2210), Monday-Friday variation
• Weekend call responsibility required
• Floating required as needed
• Two-week orientation period with 8-hour shifts (0640-1510) for 5 days
• Provide perioperative nursing care for complex GYN, GU, and transplant surgical cases
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Parking permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite, though alternative transportation options are available
• Candidates must pass telemetry exam within two attempts, with a third attempt possible after completing a cardiac interpretation review course
