American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN skilled in OR Circulating, Pre-Op, and PACU care for a 13-week assignment requiring a CO or compact license and rotational call coverage.

Responsibilities include working in a surgical services department with multiple OR suites and PACU bays, managing a variety of case types, and coordinating patient transfers while adhering to infection control standards. The role features a day shift and guaranteed hours, with rotational call and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Active CO or compact RN license required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience required.
• 3 years of combined Pre-Op/OR/PACU experience preferred.
• Must be able to function as primary caregiver across all three surgical service areas.
• ACLS certification required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Scrub experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a surgical services department with 3 OR suites, 3 PACU/Pre-Op bays, and 1 anesthesia provider.
• Surgical case types include General, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology and Orthopedics (occasional).
• Day shift 6:30am-2:30pm/3:00pm, Monday through Friday.
• May stay late on high case load days to complete surgical schedules.
• Rotational call required, averaging 1 to 2 days per week.
• Weekend call rotation every other or every third weekend, depending on staffing.
• Holiday coverage required as part of rotational call schedule.
• 40 hours guaranteed per week.
• Conduct patient assessments, document care, and provide emotional support throughout the surgical process.
• Coordinate patient transfers, recover patients post-surgery, and circulate surgical cases.
• Assist with processing instruments and equipment in central sterilizing.
• Prepare patients for surgery and provide patient education.
• Assist other surgical services staff as needed.
• Follow infection control principles and departmental policies.
• Reports directly to the Surgical Services Manager or designee.
• Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations with strong communication skills.
• Physical demands include long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting; potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
