Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in Colorado. Requires 3+ years of OR experience and Level I/II trauma experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center, with travel assignment history and Epic EMR proficiency.

The role features a 41-OR Level 1 Trauma Center setting, 3x12 hour day shifts with some float, weekend work, and no on-call requirements. Local candidates within 75 miles are considered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in CO or Compact
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
• Level I or II Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least one completed travel assignment required
• Experience circulating craniotomy cases preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in a 41-OR unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with occasional float to 8:45 AM and 10:45 AM starts
• Weekend work required, including Saturday and Sunday plus one weekday that varies weekly based on staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float within scope to other UCH ORs to meet facility needs
• Handles cases in General Surgery, GU/GYN, Neuro, ENT, and Plastics
• Perform circulating and scrub duties for a wide range of surgical specialties including Gynecology, Plastics, Neurology, Trauma, General Surgery, Urology, and ENT procedures
• Procedures may include hysterectomies, craniotomies, spinal fusions, mastectomies, appendectomies, nephrectomies, and tonsillectomies among others
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
• RTO is not allowed during specified blackout periods: June 28-July 9, September 2-12, and October 25-November 4
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Completion of all facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates may not be eligible for consideration
• Travelers who have completed a full year on assignment at this facility must wait at least one year before being rebooked
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted
