Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Connecticut. Active CT/Compact license, BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred. Epic EMR experience and call coverage are required for this travel assignment.

Candidates should have 3+ years of OR nursing and be comfortable with multiple specialties. Work 4x10-hour days, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with call twice weekly and occasional weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• 1 professional reference required.
• Skills across specialties may be required including gynecology, plastics, neurology, general surgery, orthopedics, endoscopic procedures, urology, robotics, and ENT surgeries.
• Da Vinci Xi Surgical System experience may be preferred for robotic cases.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room department of a 186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Call required twice weekly, either 5p-7p or 7p-11p.
• Weekends and holidays required as needed by the department.
• Epic charting system used.
• Perform circulating and scrub duties across a variety of surgical specialties.
• Scrubs provided for this role.
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only.
• Candidates must not be local, defined as residing within 75 miles of the hospital.
• Former staff must have separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler.
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved.
