Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level II Trauma Center in Florida. The role requires at least 1 year of trauma and orthopedic OR experience and an active FL or compact RN license.

Responsibilities include circulating and scrub duties across ortho, burn, spine, urology, trauma, and general surgery, with 1:1 patient ratios. Shift is 1:00 PM–9:30 PM with weekend/holiday rotations; Navy scrubs are required.

Qualifications

• Active FL or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted).
• Minimum 1 year of trauma OR experience.
• Minimum 1 year of orthopedic OR experience.
• Meditech experience preferred.
• Two professional references required for Florida candidates.

Responsibilities

• 15 OR suite unit with 68 staff members.
• 1:1 patient ratio during procedures.
• Circulating and/or scrub duties for ortho, burn, plastics, gyn, urology, spine, trauma and general surgery.
• Shift hours 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM with a variable call schedule.
• Work in a Level II Trauma Center and follow AORN guidelines.
• Navy blue scrubs required for RN staff.

• Prior Meditech experience preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Florida candidates

• Day shift staffing includes charge, team leads, circulators, techs, anesthesia techs, and PCAs
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 1 CST in-house
• 1:1 patient ratio
• OR service line equipment used for ortho, burn, spine, urology, trauma, general, robotics, gyn, and plastics procedures
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Shift hours are 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM with a variable call schedule
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
• Perform circulating and/or scrub duties for a variety of surgical procedures including ortho, burn, plastics, gyn, urology, spine, trauma, and general surgery
• Work within a Level II Trauma Center setting
• Follow AORN guidelines for OR practice
• Navy blue scrubs required for RN staff
• Team-oriented and positive attitude preferred
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
