Job summary

CENTENNIAL Medical Center in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Stepdown/PCU travel assignment. The position features a day shift (12 hours) three days per week, 13 weeks in duration, with onsite duties in the 10 tower/NSD unit.

Responsibilities include patient care on Neuro stepdown, lumbar puncture, chest tube placement, and adherence to Meditech documentation. Certifications in BLS/ACLS and TN RN license are required.

Qualifications

• Acute Care nursing skills and time management are required.
• Neuro stepdown experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside shift report and engage in daily huddles.
• Float to other units after orientation as needed for staffing.
• Perform lumbar puncture and chest tube placement as required on the Neuro/stepdown unit.
• Document patient care in Meditech per hospital protocol.
• Day shift 12 hours, three days per week; onsite assignment in Nashville, TN.

General Information

Unit Specifics:

Number of Beds : 30 22 Acute Care 8 Stepdown

Patient Ratios :6:1 on Acute Care 4:1 on Neuro stepdown

Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): 1 RN Charge is over all of 10 tower, 1-2 Techs and a unit secretary.

Type of equipment: Acute Care side: Vital sign machine, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips. All things stroke. Neuro stepdown: Vapotherm, Bipap, Trachs, titrating cardiac drips.

Documentation system: Meditech

Scheduling requirements: This depends on schedule, Weekends shifts are required.

Floating policy:. Experience nurses can float after orientation.

Patient Experience requirements: Bedside shift report, personal connection, and daily huddle.

Hospital Specifics-

Certifications: BLS for Acute Care BLS and ACLS for Neuro Stepdown.
