Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position in Ohio. Requires 2+ years of Neuro ICU or comprehensive stroke center experience and Epic proficiency. Active RN license (State or Compact) with OH license accepted and NIHSS, ACLS, BLS certifications are required.

The role involves 1:3 patient care, night shifts (19:00-7:30), and 13- or 18-week contracts with weekend and holiday coverage. Epic charting and nursing care for stroke and neurosurgery patients are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or comprehensive stroke center experience
• Epic charting experience
• No candidates with past license disciplinary action accepted
• Overtime and shift flexibility may be required

Responsibilities

• Treats neurological diseases and disorders in a fast-paced comprehensive stroke center ICU
• Provides care for overflow patients from other ICUs as needed
• Maintains 1:3 patient ratio
• Night shift 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Contract options of 13 or 18 weeks
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday
• Floating to Main/South/North Campus as needed within specialty cluster
• Epic charting system required
• Provide critical care nursing for stroke, seizures, post-neurosurgery cases
• Support overflow patients from surgical and cardiac ICUs as needed
• Floating prioritized by facility discretion; may assist units outside primary specialty
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13 weeks due to low census
• Max 14 days RTO per contract; request at submission with no post-offer changes
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside 50-mile radius
• Past Premier Health perm/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months to reapply
• First-time travelers not considered for this position
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring 2+ years of Neuro ICU or comprehensive stroke center experience and Epic proficiency.

Requirements

• Active RN license (State or Compact), OH license accepted
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS with ability to read and interpret strips
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, starting/maintaining IVs, ABG interpretation, suctioning, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Preferred skills include arterial line management, ventilator management, EVD and ICP monitoring, CVA/acute stroke management, post neurosurgery management, traumatic brain injury care, spinal cord injury care, IV insulin protocols, and telemetry
• No candidates with past license disciplinary action accepted

Responsibilities

• Fast-paced comprehensive stroke center ICU treating neurological diseases and disorders including seizures and strokes
• Also cares for overflow patients from Medical Surgical ICU and Heart and Vascular ICU
• 1:3 patient ratio
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• 13- or 18-week contract options available
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Priority floating to Main Campus (Dayton), South Campus (Centerville), and North Campus (Englewood) within specialty cluster
• Epic charting system required
• Provide critical care nursing to neurological ICU patients including stroke, seizure, and post neurosurgery cases
• Support overflow patients from surgical and cardiac ICUs as needed
• Floating required with traveler prioritized at facility discretion, may include support to nursing care teams on units outside primary specialty
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission with no changes after offer
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
