Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a NICU RN for a 13-week night assignment at a Level IV trauma teaching hospital in Little Rock, AR. Active AR or Compact RN license and BLS are required, with 3+ years in Level III–IV NICU and recent trach experience.

The role uses EPIC EMR, Pyxis, and advanced neonatal care equipment, with a 12-hour night shift (36 hours/week) and no on-call. Travel nurses are welcome, with guaranteed weekend coverage and a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (AR or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• 3+ years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NICU required
• Recent experience with trach patients required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• NCC Neonatal ICU RN certification preferred
• Must test negative for nicotine

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level IV, 104-bed NICU with 8 beds per pod
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within ICU clusters (NICU, PICU, Burn ICU) with travelers floated first
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3/4 based on acuity
• Care for micro-preemies, VLBW infants, surgical cases and transfers from Level II NICUs
• Use EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication system
• Equipment includes GE monitors, servo ventilators, ECMO, nitric oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent; Kangaroo Care isolettes
• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators with anesthesia support
• AP providers present on unit
• Provide specialized neonatal care including vent management and post-surgical care
• Dedicated multi-disciplinary team with 24/7 neonatologist coverage
• 2–3 days of orientation and specialty testing
• Scheduling managed by manager or scheduler; no self-scheduling
• First-time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted

• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators with anesthesia support available
• Advanced practice providers present on the unit
• Provide specialized neonatal intensive care including ventilator management, post-surgical care, and support for complex conditions such as diaphragmatic hernia, NEC, and spina bifida
• Dedicated multi-disciplinary team with 24/7 neonatologist coverage
• RNs can expect 2-3 days of orientation and specialty testing
• Facility dress code must be followed
• Scheduling managed by manager or scheduler; no self-scheduling available
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
