Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 22-bed telemetry unit in Kentucky. This role requires a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification, with ACLS, NIHSS, and annual Dysrhythmia competency validation within 6 months of hire.

Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week), 0.9 FTE. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and prioritize individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team, and coordinate admissions/discharges within policy.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (KY or compact) required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS, NIHSS and annual dysrhythmia validation within 6 months of hire.
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Prior nursing experience not required, but preferred.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs.
• Strong communication with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• 22-bed telemetry/med-surg unit caring for complex patients.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care teams

• Patients are admitted from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 0.9 FTE position
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
• Develop and prioritize individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice, considering patient culture and age
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge processes, including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles or meet local candidate criteria at a lower pay rate
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
