Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Float RN with Med Surg Tele experience for a night shift acute care float position in Kentucky. Must hold a KY or compact RN license and have strong telemetry, IV therapy, and chest tube/BPAP readiness.

The role includes a 1:6 patient ratio, 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), and on-call requirements. Travel-friendly benefits provided by the agency enhance compensation and housing options.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Float RN with Med Surg Tele experience for a night shift acute care float position requiring a KY or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Med Surg Tele experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management; chest tube and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care; wound vac experience preferred
• Experience in cardiac monitoring and emergency response; telemetry remote monitoring preferredFlu vaccine required with no exemptions

Responsibilities

• Acute Care Float unit position

• Meditech charting experience preferred

• Must reside within a 65-mile radius; local travelers not accepted
• Weekend requirements to be discussed during interview
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion
• First-time travelers accepted with strong clinical experience and knowledge
