Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week night shift assignment. A VA or compact RN license and tele experience are required to qualify for this role.

The position covers an on-site Med/Surg Tele unit with strict 1:7 patient ratios and night shifts. Travel housing allowances, licensure reimbursements, and comprehensive benefits accompany this assignment.

Qualifications

• Active VA or compact RN license required.
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred.
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
• Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing.
• Must complete drug testing 12-14 days prior to start.
• Facial hair trimmed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines.

Responsibilities

• MS/Tele unit setting with 1:7 patient ratios.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:30-07:00).
• 36/36 or 36/48 schedules available.
• Rotating weekends and holidays required.
• Floating required.
• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education.
• General orientation begins Sundays with online CBL modules averaging 4-5 non-billable hours.
• Must reside 100+ miles from the hospital's service area; local candidates not accepted.
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role.
