Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in North Carolina with 2+ years of cardiac experience and Cerner proficiency.

The role is in a Telemetry unit of a 24-bed hospital, offering a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and a travel rate subject to distance from the facility. Compliance requirements include NC or Compact license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and Nursys license verification.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Experience with Life Pak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment.
• Cerner EMR experience required.
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration.
• Active license verification via Nursys required at time of consideration.
• Copies of required certifications must be provided.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a 24-bed hospital department.
• Cardiac specialty unit serving generalized cardiac patients ranging from young adults to elderly adults.
• Patient ratio of 4:1.
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, A-fib, CHF, and pre/post care for cardiac catheterizations (groin & radial) and VATS.
• Uses Life Pak, Zoll, Masimo, and Cerner equipment/systems.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Required to work every other weekend.
• May occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical units.
• No on-call requirements.
• Work in a family-oriented unit culture.
• Any scrub color is acceptable.
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate.
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months.
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time.
• Travelers must start on one of the designated facility orientation dates.
