Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift resource pool position requiring a SC or Compact license and telemetry experience.

The role includes a 3x12-hour night schedule (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with a 1:6 patient ratio, weekends as needed, and on-call duties for holiday coverage. Travel and licensure reimbursement are offered along with housing assistance.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required; pending license accepted if obtained before start.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg Tele experience; 1 year considered case by case.
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia management.
• Must pass arrhythmia and medication competency tests on orientation day.
• Community hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit care in a hospital setting.
• Resource Pool at one campus with potential float to main campus.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM).
• Patient ratio of 1:6; weekend shifts as needed.
• On-call for holiday coverage; 1 holiday with 2 on-call/additional shifts per 6 weeks, or 2 holidays with no on-call.
• Floating within scope to other units at both campuses.
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required.
• Direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit with cardiac monitoring responsibilities.
• Schedule and float assignments communicated in advance.
• Must pass a fit test onsite; facial shaving may be required.
• Attendance policy; missing more than two shifts in a 13-week contract may trigger contract review.
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; after submission not considered.
• Does not accept local candidates; must live outside a 75-mile radius.
• First-time travelers welcome to apply.
• Previous permanent staff of this health system not eligible to return as travelers.
