Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a day shift travel assignment in Bristol, TN. The role supports Med/Surg/Tele patients and requires a 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio, with a focus on cardiovascular, renal, and neurological cases.

The ideal candidate holds TN or compact RN licensure, BLS, 2+ years of experience, and proficiency with IV therapy, respiratory care, and telemetry. Travel nurses must reside at least 100 miles away and will enjoy housing allowances and other

Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license required.
• AHA BLS certification required (AHA certification only accepted).
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Med/Surg/Tele experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy, central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration.
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management.
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
• Wound care and wound vac experience.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Day shift, 4x12 hours (6:30 AM to 7:00 PM)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 scheduling options available
• Every other weekend required
• No call responsibilities
• Floating to other units required
• Epic charting system preferred
• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg/Tele patients including cardiovascular, renal, and neurological cases
• Support nursing student clinical education alongside standard clinical duties
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered (local candidates not accepted)
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet fit testing guidelines
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
