Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift in Alaska. Requires AK RN license, BLS, and 1 year of recent experience in a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated hospital.

Responsibilities include 3x12 shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), charting in Epic, potential unit float, no on-call, and generous housing/travel reimbursements. Travel RNs must reside 50 miles away and provide two references. Open to first-time travelers depending on interview.

Qualifications

• Active AK RN license (license in hand for auto offer)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience
• Experience with IV therapy, line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Neurological and orthopedic care preferred (CVA, TBI, total joint replacement)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, rapid response/Code team
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within last 3 years
• Full SSN and DOB required for submission

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit caring for ortho, neuro, telemetry, morbidly obese, bariatric surgery, and general medical patients
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend based on staffing needs
• May float within scope to like units, including sister facilities
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Charting performed in Epic
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Free parking available
• Work in Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
• 407 staffed beds facility
• Must disclose any prior work history with the health system (permanent, travel, per-diem)
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as travel RN
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from facility to be considered
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer time off may not be accommodated
• Must commit to 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Travelers may float between sister facilities within the region
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience and interview
