Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Johnson City, TN. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience and active TN or compact RN licensure.

Night shift 4x12 hours, floating with rotating weekends/holidays, patient ratio 1:6, and Epic EMR experience are required. General orientation starts Sundays; housing and licensure reimbursements are provided for traveling nurses.

Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
• AHA BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II preferred.
• Experience in respiratory care, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and neuro/psychiatric care preferred.
• Wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols preferred.
• Experience in orthopedics, genitourinary/renal, and plastics care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00).
• 36/36, 36/48, and 48/48 schedules available.
• Floating required with rotating weekends and rotating holidays.
• Patient ratio of 1:6.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit.
• Participate in clinical nursing student support and education alongside clinical care duties.
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework (CBLs).
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area; local candidates not accepted.
• EKG proficiency testing required within 72 hours of signing.
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines.
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role.
