Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Ortho unit in Colorado. Candidates must hold a Colorado or Compact RN license and bring Med/Surg-Ortho experience.

The role requires BLS and ACLS, NIHSS certification, and ASN with BSN preferred. Shifts are 3x12 hours (0700–1930) with weekend work; on-call may be required and Epic is used for documentation. Certification validity must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Active RN license, Colorado or Compact, required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification required; TNCC preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Ortho experience required.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Certifications must not expire prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Med/Ortho unit setting (not Step-Down).
• 3x12-hour day shifts, 0700-1930.
• Weekend shifts required.
• May float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications.
• May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
• Uses Epic for clinical documentation.
• Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions per state Board of Nursing standards.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care.
• Performs health teaching, counseling, and therapeutic interventions.
• Monitors and reviews therapy and treatment plans.
• Refers patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
• Documents care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Former Intermountain permanent staff must be separated for at least one year to be eligible for this assignment.
