This hospital-based float role covers varied units with a 3x12 night shift (1900-0730) and weekend work. Epic EMR is used; strict adherence to nursing standards and safety is expected, with on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN license Colorado or Compact, valid and in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certification through the AHA, not expiring before start.
• NIHSS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Float Pool nursing across assigned units.
• Float coverage may include Med/Surg, Surgical, Medical Oncology, Inpatient Rehab, Cardiac, or Neuro Trauma Spine.
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730.
• Weekend shifts required.
• May switch to day shift as needed.
• Use Epic charting system and perform nursing duties per state standards.
• Document care, provide health teaching, and refer patients when needed.
• Float to other departments within scope of competency per business needs.
• Former Intermountain staff must be separated for at least one year before travel assignment.

Requirements

• Active RN license (Colorado or Compact) required, no pending licenses accepted
• BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required, must not expire prior to start
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Nursing Float Pool position
• Float coverage may include Medical Surgical, Surgical, Medical Oncology, Inpatient Rehab, Cardiac, or Neuro Trauma Spine units
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730
• Weekend shifts required
• Flexibility to switch to day shift may be needed
• May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
• Uses Epic charting system
• Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical duties per state Board of Nursing standards
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Provide health teaching and counseling to patients
• Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
• Refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed
• Float to other departments within scope of competency based on business need
• RTO requests are reviewed and approved or denied based on unit needs
• Former Intermountain permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before being eligible for this travel assignment
