American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an Ortho/Neuro night shift position requiring 2 years of specialty experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

6 West Ortho/Neuro unit within a hospital setting (34 beds) cares for stroke, neuro, post-op back surgery, and hip fracture patients with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. Epic EMR is used; night shift is 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; local candidates within 50 miles receive a reduced bill rate.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required.
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Ortho/Neuro nursing experience.
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in past 12 months.
• EKG testing required; on-site testing after clearance.
• US Social Security Number required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to orthopaedic and neurological patients, including stroke and post-surgical cases.
• Care for patients on 6 West Ortho/Neuro unit (34 beds) in a hospital setting.
• Maintain patient ratio of 1 to 5 and collaborate with team.
• Operate within a team-oriented environment emphasizing communication.
• Follow dress code: navy blue scrubs; nose rings not permitted.
• Local candidates within 50-mile radius accepted at reduced bill rate.
• Night shift schedule: 3x12s from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Floating to other units as needed; no call requirements.
• Utilize Epic EMR system and Pyxis/Alaris equipment.
